Construction of the Daming Palace National Heritage Site Park Starts [Time:2008-11-4] [From:Web] [View:]      On 21st of Oct. 2008, the orient leading project of Silk Road joint WHS application, a classic example of project for China big heritage preservation ----- Xian Daming Palace National Big Heritage Site Preservation Demonstration Garden, Daming Palace National Heritage Site Park Project, starts on the Hanyuan Palace Site. Director-general of National Cultural Relic Bureau, Shan Jixiang, Deputy Director-general of National Cultural Relic Bureau, Tong Mingkang, and Vice-governor of Shaanxi Province, Jing Junhai, Mayor of Xian, Chen Baogen uncovered the monument together for opening construction.   
     Last October, with a planned area of 19.16 sq. km. and core area of 3.2 sq. km. Municipal Party Committee and Government entirely launched the Daming Palace Heritage Site Preservation Revelation Project ---- Daming Palace National Heritage Site Park which will become a classic orient example of Big WHS Preservation after its completion. Yesterday, the Daming Palace National Big Heritage Site Preservation Revelation Garden, Daming Palace National Heritage Site Park Project started in due form, which indicated the Daming Palace Heritage Site Preservation Project turns its work from phase of prophase removal and layout design to the phase of construction. The Daming Palace National Heritage Site Park will be concluded and open to public in October, 2010 expectedly. 
     On the opening ceremony, Shan Jixiang, Director-general of National Cultural Relic Bureau, said, the opening of Xian Daming Palace National Big Heritage Preservation Revelation Garden, the Heritage Site Park, is a historic conclusion of the Daming Palace Heritage Site archeological investigation, exploration and preservation for more than 50 years and a grand cultural occasion to Daming Palace Heritage Site entire preservation and revelation. The big ancient city heritage site, Xian Ancient City Wall Heritage Site, is a key preservation project among 100 emphasized big heritage site preservation projects outlined under the national “11th Five-Year” plan. Opening and implementation of the Daming Palace Heritage Site integral preservation revelation indicates the big heritage site preservation work in Xian leads the pack of others in China, an advanced Chinese ancient heritage site preservation garden in the world and also an example project of heritage site preservation with important influence in the world wide. 
     In his speech, Chen Baogen said, the Daming Palace Heritage Site is a most influential representation among legion ancient heritage sites in China, an important part for integral Silk Road heritage application and a symbolic model with no substitute for success to the meaning of historic culture in the world. This important project organically combines heritage preservation with culture revelation and city construction, and enormously drives enhancement of area environment quality and improvement for people’s produce and life and also efficiently promotes harmonious proportional development in north area of Xian. Xian will clenches this good chance of Daming Palace Heritage Site Preservation and tries its best to explore a successful model of big heritage site preservation driving city development.
